The herd
Aston · Reilly · Sonny · Arlo
Aston, Reilly, Sonny and Arlo are social animals who love human interaction - happy out meeting walkers all year round.
Ours is a working sheep and alpaca farm in the townland of Treanakillew, on the hillside above Glencar Lough.

The walk
Every walk starts at the pen, where you meet the herd, take a lead rope and get to know your alpaca before we set off.

We take the hillside track at the alpacas' pace - mostly a gentle climb, with a few steeper parts, up through the rushes and under the holly trees. As we go, we'll talk you through the herd and the history of this land.

The walk leads up to the Devil's Chimney, one of the tallest waterfalls in Ireland, and into the mountainside valley they call the Swiss Valley - with Glencar Lough spread out below you the whole way.

“Absolutely brilliant experience, the alpacas are so placid, it was great to be able to allow our young children to guide one by themselves with no concerns about their temperament.”
“Fantastic experience for young and old! The walk with Des was very informative and fun for the kids. Highly recommend”
“Des was a wonderful guide, so friendly and great with the alpacas. He has a beautiful farm and the walk up the hillside was picturesque and so fun!”
